Product Care Info
Thank you for visiting Stone Grove Statuary!
Here are some tips for maintaining your new concrete statuary items and ensure years upon years of enjoyment.
Stains & Water Seal
We use durable pigments and paints (depending on the item) that absorb into the concrete. Most items are pre-colored, but are also available in bare concrete by request.
To prevent cracking, apply a water seal upon delivery, and once annually. This simple process can be done with a paintbrush, or we can provide sealing for a 10% charge upon special request.
Color Options
Our standard finish is a charcoal colored antiquing that highlights details. Natural concrete finishes or other custom coloring must be specified when ordering. If painting your own piece, start with a bare, untreated concrete piece and use acrylic paint, then seal it before applying water seal.
Winter Care
To protect concrete in harsh winters, bring statuary indoors if possible. If left outside, keep it dry, cover with a secured tarp, and apply a water sealer annually. For fountains, store pumps in water to preserve seals, and avoid sudden temperature changes like adding cold water to hot concrete, which can cause cracking. Fill birdbaths and fountains in the cooler morning or evening hours.
